“To build a safe, free, and honest resource for Roleplayers of all kinds. To bridge Ideas, goals, communities, guilds, and players. To help grow creators and finally, most importantly, to help the RP community thrive.”

This is my mission statement. I took nearly a month in thinking about exactly what I wanted to say and I’m very happy with it. Let me take you through each sentence to explain a little further:

“To build a safe, free, and honest resource for Roleplayers of all kinds.”

I will never put, nor allow, this resource site behind a paywall. I truly have a will to simply make the tools to help strengthen what we Roleplayers can do. That doesn’t mean I won’t have a shop to help support this idea because, let’s be honest, it IS going to take money. Other ideas to make money will come along, but like I said above, it’ll never be to unlock the information on this site. I’ll never profit off what the content creators personally make or what could be considered a resource this site can give.

“To bridge Ideas, goals, communities, guilds, and players.”

While I may have many dreams I am focused on accomplishing, this is always at the forefront of my mind. I cannot stress how much I love people and how much I love the RP community as a whole. It has been a resource that has helped me understand myself.  I know we are a scattered lot. We focus on our own characters, our own guilds and hubs. We spend countless hours growing our own communities and thats completely understandable. Let me be the one to worry about bringing our realms and worlds together.

“To help grow creators and finally, most importantly, to help the RP community thrive.”

When I first sat down with this idea of mine, I thought I was going to have to do literally everything by myself. That was until someone reached out to me and told me that if I wanted to build a city, I couldn’t run every shop and they were right. This isn’t about MY voice, it’s about OUR voice. It’s not about what I can do, it’s about what WE can do and if I’m going to sit here and use the voices of my fellow creators to grow these bridges, then it’s the least I can do to make it up to them and the community itself. I will always put the creators first. I will ALWAYS put the communities first.

Progress

The overall goal that I have for the site is varied depending on the community at large. For instance, I want to be a place where tabletop roleplayers can find DMs or game stores to play. I want this to be a place Live Action Roleplayers (Larpers) can find groups to play with. I want this to be a place where MMO Rpers can create and share characters, events, and so on.
To put it simply, As a roleplayer myself I want to create this to be a resource for Rpers of all kinds. I still have a long, long ways to go.
Below you can see the overall progress but further down you can see what all I’m looking to accomplish for each individual section. You may see the goals change every now and again, but the idea will always stay the same.

Tabletop

For the tabletop portion of this idea, as I stated above, I want people to be able to use this site to find DMs and vice versa. I want to connect game stores in the same way as well. I want people to be able to login and create character sheets they’ll never loss. I want people to be able to look up games and immediately see the reviews, the creators, the actual plays, the comments on it.

What I want to achieve

  1.  Tabletop games listed on the site. Complete with reviews, actual plays and interviews, from creators.
  2. A way to search for Tabletops.
  3. Login section with the ability to create character sections for various tabletop RPGs.
  4. The ability to register as a DM.
  5. The ability to look up a Game Store near you.

MMO

I want a website that’s dedicated to MMO Rpers.  As someone who primarily MMO RP’s I’ve seen us have to rely on sources strewn all over the net. I want people to be able to login and create pages for their characters. I want players to be able to submit their characters to guilds. Another feature I’ll be working towards is the ability for guilds to be able to post events that show up on a universal calendar that can be searched through to find events your character may be interested in.

What I want to achieve

  1. Pages for Characters and Guilds
  2. The ability to submit events that are able to be filtered out to find events for your character.
  3. A unique creator that provides lore as you design and build your character.
  4. A function to search for places to RP in, organized by game
  5. Hosting RP communities for players to find a place that suits them.

Helping Creators

I’m putting this in it’s own section because I want to give special attention to helping creators get out there. For as long as I can remember, this has been a fundamental part of my goal, because by helping RP creators I am helping the RP community by giving them the ability to get their name out there, and giving people more content. I want to get to get to the point where I can sponsor creators, I want to help them make merchandise, I want to make a special section on the front page announcing their kickstarters. I want to help the creators just as much as I want to help the RP community.

What I want to achieve

  1. Hosting podcasts
  2. Creating a search function to help filter podcasts so people can find exactly what they are looking for.
  3. Creating and assisting with the design and sales of merchandise.
  4. Assisting with the announcements of kickstarters.
